In rural Kenya, maternal, neonatal and child mortalities are far above average, due to inadequate, or a lack of pre- and post-natal care, education and proper maternity facilities. Imbako Public Health, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, will help save lives by promoting/supporting Maternal & Child Health Care Services among these vulnerable communities. Activities will include capacity building of the local community health workers, local midwives and mobile child vaccinators.

As reported by the World Health Organization (WHO), Kenyan women and children are disproportionately affected by HIV and AIDS. Those living in rural areas face an even tougher battle due to a lack of education and medical services. Imbako plans to curb the spread of this disease through education, awareness and prevention campaigns, targeting local schools, pubs, churches and community centers.
